Fat: Body Positivity Exercise Game
A downloadable game
For years myself, and many others, have struggled with their own appearance based on the fact we are a little more than "average" when it comes to our figure. A good portion of my life was spent hiding away in my room with the big bag of chips I stole from the kitchen, ashamed to address the world with my XXL shirt tightly constricting my stomach. There would be times I couldn't even look in the mirror without grimacing or fighting back tears. Now that I'm older however, these issues haven't surfaced in a long time; this is due to many hours of mental exercise and confidence building over the years.
One of the most effective ways I've found in helping to build my confidence was by forcing myself to say positive things about my body in front of a mirror. This method, over time, evolved into the product you see on this page. Allow me to introduce "Fat: Body Positivity Exercise Game". Though the title may seem degrading at first, it is meant to inspire anger at the societal norms of how beauty is portrayed within our everyday lives. We may be more plumped and lush than most people, but WE are not "Fat", we are PROUD, HEALTHY, SEXY, AND DETERMINED. Remember, the biggest killer of confidence is yourself, and if you're confident in how you look, nothing can bring down that smile baby!!
Now, as for the game itself it's very straight forward. First, you print off "Fat Cards". Then, once a day, you burn one (Yes, this is a game that involves fire so PLEASE be responsible!!). While said card is burning you say as many positive things about your body as you can until the card completely burns out. You repeat this process each day until the cards run out or until confidence is achieved. Now, this method by itself isn't the cure all for body positivity training, it is meant to be incorporated into your daily routine of self discovery of your new found confidence.
Though this game may have been made for those with a more grand physique in mind, that doesn't mean those with difference self doubts about their body image can't use this method. After all, the end result of this product is to help any and all who are struggling internally with how they look. Even if it's just a small push in the right direction.
"But there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful
We're stars and we're beautiful" - Scars to your beautiful. By Alessia Cara
